Family Tree Template

 Leaf

The first thing you should do when starting your family tree is to have the right family tree template(s). Granted, you could use blank paper though this will prove to be a disorganized pain.

These templates are free to print!

The first template I suggest to print is the "Research Calendar". This allows you to keep track of every family tree source you have. This will show to be important as you will never forget how you got your outcomes. This is FREE to print. Research Calendar Family Tree Template

Get a Research Extract Sheet. This will allow you to write down anything that can not be photocopied. This is great for things like Deeds or land grants, or things you may find in Microfilm. You can print it here FREE. Research Extract Sheet

As you do your research for your family history, you will soon realize that contact with other researchers will be inevitable.

They will contain information important to you, as in time, you will have information other people can use to fill in blanks on their family tree.
