Jamieson Journal 14

We arrived in Thorsby, Alabama at 5:15am. I drove the 8 hours there with the exception of the last half hour. Dad fell in the shower the day before, he was extremely sore, his shoulder was very bruised.

We said our hellos to everyone; Jay, Melinda, Sam, Joshua and Haley. Jay went to work shortly after. Joshua had a stomach ache and he stayed home from school.

We napped until noon and spent time relaxing at Jay's house. I through the football around with Sam. Haley, Joshua and I hung out. Misty and Melinda made a wonderful meal; pork chops, zucchini, squash, cucumber salad and pasta salad. Dad had a cherry turnover for dessert. We talked a lot about mom; everyone went to sleep around midnight, I stayed up for an hour longer.

September 26th, 2006- At 10:30am, we left Jay's house, he was at work again. We went to see Uncle Al Lapp and Aunt Mary, along with our Alabamian cousins. It was a quick visit, but good conversation. Uncle Al has many animals; chickens, dogs, cats, etc. We were able to see Ronnie, Alana, Colton, Brenda and some of the children. We left about 1pm, then stopped at Burger King and ate.

We went back to Jay's house to spend time with them. We left Jay's on our way to Wisconsin. We left at 8:39pm. I drove the way through. We had a dead stop in Kentucky for about 30 minutes. In Chicago, we also hit some rough traffic and took us 2 and a half hours to get through there.

September 27th, 2006- We visited with Don and Loraine for a couple hours, then Misty and I went to drive around town. I took her to the Fleetfoot Dr. area where I spent some of my childhood (10-16years old). Also showed her White Rock Ave. where I was raised (0-10 years old). Later that day I made it back to Fleetfoot where I saw an old friend who still lived on the street. Victor Ramos is a friend we used to play football with. I also stopped in to see an old friend from school, Jason Reese. The experiences thus far were surreal, taking a trip into the past.

In the late afternoon, evening time, dad and the rest of us talked and played cards until about midnight. I went to bed at 1am.

September 28th, 2006- Dad woke at 6am, I woke at 8am. Drake, Chad LeBeau's son, was there in the morning. He is a great kid, this was the first time I saw this cousin. Loraine and Don were up as well. Marilee came about 11am to visit. We got dad's "Slingo" working so he could play his computer game early mornings. Misty and I took a drive to Minooka Park, fleetfoot, downtown, and to see my middle school (Horning). We also got stamps at the post office. Dad visited Marilee.

I got back and took a nap for a couple hours and woke to Chad Balogh, tickling my feet. We all talked for a while and about an hour later Scott's daughter, Nicole came over with Jackson and Bella. We all talked and hung out. Chad and I played guitar and song.

My cousin Drew came with his girlfriend Brooke and spent some time with everyone. They left at around midnight and dad went to bed. Loraine, Don, Chad, Nicole, Misty and myself drank and played cards. Chad and Nicole left at 1:30am. The rest of us played cards until 3:30am, then went to bed.
