July 2nd, 2006-  --Jamieson Journal 3--  The Lapp's come to town!

Family get-together at mom and dad's house

 (790 Avalon Rd. in Winter Garden, FL)

We got a late start because Missy worked until the wee hours of the morning. We got to the house at about 4pm. The faces we saw;

Uncle Allen and Aunt Mary Lapp, along with their children; Veronica (Ronnie), Justin, and Alana. Ronnie was their with her children; Justin was there with his wife Brenda and their children; and Alana with her fiancé Tommy. Also there was Uncle Dave and Aunt Robbie Lapp. The Jamieson's showed up in there normal packs; Rick and Bonnie; Scott, Jacob and Timmy; Barry, his girlfriend, Logan and Tara; Nat, P.J., Joey and his wife Kristin; John and Leslie; Todd, Misty, Devin, JoJo, and A.J.; and myself and Missy.

It was a rare occasion for me, I was extra excited to see the family. I had drank for the first time in almost 2 years, and was a little tipsy. Dad made some Italian sausages, they were great as usual.

 While Uncle Dave and Allen, and Aunt Robbie and Mary are very close family, I grew up with Allen's children; Ronnie, Justin and Alana. They are my only cousins I've known my age; Justin and myself only 5 months apart. Alana and I went to Florida in June 1989 for the 1st time, together with my dad on a vacation. This marked the 1st time I would meet my "future" wife. It wasn't until 1991 that we moved there.

Horseshoes again were played, I had to step that one out because I had come late. Everyone was in good spirits, it was a little overwhelming to see so many people you haven't in so many years. I speak a lot of our genealogy, I am proud of our family now, and I have pride of our family past. This was my chance to let the Lapps know that I have been documenting our history.

We left quite late and went to Nat's house with Joey and Kristin. We stayed their until 2am. Sometimes you just don't want things to end:)

July 3rd, 2006- To Nat's we go !

The Jamieson and Lapps then met the next day at Nat's home in Groveland/Clermont FL. This time we showed up before any of the other guests. The Lapps' from Alabama came, along with Todd's children. Nat, Joey, and Kristin were there.

We spent time with each other; Joey took a few out on the boat, the motor went bad turning their outing, humorously, they came back an hour later paddling the boat with a 2X4 Joey picked up along the way. We watched the video dated June 13-19, 1989 of mostly Alana and I on our very first trip to FL.

Nat ordered a bunch of pizzas and salad, when Missy and Nat came back from getting the food, we devoured almost everything....left a couple salads.

The children went swimming, and the cousins and 2nd cousins hung out. The Lapp children are beautiful and wonderful. This is the 1st time I had ever seen many of the little ones; they have the trademark eyes. Eyes that are big, eyelashes just as impressive, this is a trait us boys had gotten as well. The children were polite, even saying sir and ma'am at times, you can see that this part of the family is close and together.

Our night ended when the Lapps went to mom and dad's to visit. Shortly before they left, Todd came from work and we all said goodbye with many pictures and many hugs. I hope we get our chance to go to Alabama before the year is up:)
