June 17th, 2007 Happy Father's Day!

John got out of the hospital on the 15th.

At midnight Devin said Happy Birthday to me. Missy right after.

Us three hung out for the night eating brownies and listening to music.

The morning started at 8:30am taking Devin to work. From there I went to Dad's area to play tennis. It was Todd and Chris Aldrich who just moved here about a week ago, against dad and I.

We won 6-2, 6-0, 6-2, though Chris has promising speed and showed with some practice to be a force. At about 10:45am; Todd went home to get ready, and dad and I stopped at his house to get ready for Father's Day party.

Barry had 4 kids with him at the house; Jacob, Timmy, Logan and Tara. After hanging out with the kids for an hour; Barry dropped Jacob and Timmy off; Dad and I went to Nat's house for the party.

Him and Joey were there' Kristin was in Kansas picking up Joslyn who will be staying in Florida for a couple weeks. Beginning the skewer party; Joey was putting skewers together.

Shortly, Todd and Jordan came, Barry, Logan and Tara, John and Leslie, Rick, Samantha and Charlie. Missy waited for Devin to get off work, they came about 6:30pm.

We played some water volleyball once in the afternoon and once later on at night. I got a phone call from Jay, Allison, Nicole, and Chad through out the night. We all pitched in and got dad a Genealogical DNA test.

This will determine a lot about his and our past history. Modern technology has allowed us to figure out where our Jamieson name comes from. He took 3 swab tests as they are ready to be sent to the lab for results. We should know more around July 20th. The assessment takes 7 weeks.

Missy, Devin and I left around 11pm and went to dad's house. We had to pick up some of Devin's things and to talk to Dad for a while before he went to bed. From there we went to see Mom at Woodlawn Cemetery.

We stayed there about 10 minutes. I sure do miss her; on days like today I get sad for many reasons. Last year I had my mother and brother Scott who were always instrumental on special holidays for me. Last year Scott came to my house with 31 lottery tickets and Mom always remembered.

At midnight, we left home where I opened Missy's presents for my birthday. She really tried hard to make my birthday special. We were all tired and it wasn't long before we called it a day.

June 22nd, 2007 This week Devin has continued working at the Porn shop and doing well, on time and there everyday.

Dad stopped over on Wednesday and stayed for a few hours, he helped me take care of some things. On Wednesday night Missy picked up Jacob and Timmy. They stayed the night and left the  following afternoon.

Dominic came after breakfast and the 3 hung here for a few hours until we had to go to work.

On this Friday morning, Missy had an appointment to the doctor which we arrived around 10am. We got some difficult news from the doctor who got word on our child's ultrasound.

Jamieson Journal 33

Apparently they discovered that Capen has Club feet. This is a genetic issue which a child is born with inverted bones near or in his ankles which seems to show up in 1 of every 500 children.

This would require surgery after the 1st week of birth and continuous rehabilitation for up to 2 years.

Although we are glad it is completely fixable, it is an awful feeling to know this is how your child will spend his first weeks in this already cruel world.

Missy has been basically denying this, she is hoping the doctor is making an err. We have an appointment next week for another ultrasound to verify this issue.

I can only think of what I can do to take the pain and endurance of this myself so her and Capen don't have to go through anything, obviously that is impossible. I can only remain strong for the situation and work this out with time.

June 24th, 2007 I woke up at 8:10am to take Devin to work. I then went to the tennis courts by Dad where he showed up a couple minutes later.

Todd came with Chris. In the middle of the first came Barry came. Dad and I were partners 4 games.

The first against Chris and Todd went 6-2; second was against Barry and Chris 6-1; third we lost to Todd and Barry 6-2, and the last we won 7-5 against Todd and Chris. From there Dad went home and Todd and I went with Barry to Pine Hills where Logan was playing baseball in one of his championship games.

He is on an all-star team which won today 10-6. They play once more on the 25th for the final. Logan had hit 1 for 1 with a single and made an error in the infield. After the game we went back to Dad to say goodbye than I dropped Todd off at home.

I got back to my house in time to take a shower and then Missy and I picked Devin up from work. We drove straight to Carmen and Preston's house and ate hamburgers. Jacob, Dominic and Timmy were there, Leigh came to get them around 6:30pm.

Carmen, Preston Jr., Dominic, Missy and myself then went to West Orange Movie Theater in Ocoee and saw "Evan Almighty" at the 7:30pm showing. We drove home and spent most of the night playing Star Wars Video Game. At this time Joel and Melinda are moving into there new place in Alabama.

June 25th, 2007 Rick Jamieson turns 54!

At 5:40pm Missy and I picked up Devin from work and then dropped Missy off at her parent's house. Devin and I drove to Burger King and while at the light of Oak Ridge turning left onto O.B.T. a guy on a motorcycle lost control while making a left onto Oak Ridge.

His bike went out of control and he veered upon the curb. He shot off his bike and landed horizontally wrapping around a light pole.

I immediately ran over to him though he was quickly, and surprisingly standing up. Many people rushed the scene and he was OK so I hopped back in the car.

When we came back around after picking up food the fire trucks were there though the guy was brushing them away having just minor injuries and fully embarrassed by his wipeout.

Found out this week that grandpa Lapp (Albert) had a club foot which may explain the connection with our Capen. We should find out this week sometime the severity of this.
