Jamieson Journal 9
August 21st, 2006- The
night continued, it was brutal
(to say the least) to watch my mom
suffer.
Although her functions were diminishing,
she recognized everyone
she saw and you could see the moments in her eyes.
--Jamieson Journal 9--
Early morning, after she saw dad, she knew
it was time to let go. Her breathing stopped on her own completely, and
she no longer blinked. Her eyes stayed open, we assume by what the
doctors had told us, she could still hear everything. We talked to her
and watched her slowly fade. Her niece came in and asked if she wanted
to hear Scott's song, she made us aware she did. This is when I recall
her fading away, while staring into her husbands eyes. Dad was so
strong.
At about 12:30 they asked us all to come in.
15-20 of us watched her final heartbeat and finally saw the peace back
in her. Shirley Ann Lapp Jamieson passed away 12:40pm noon time in Room
572 at Health Central in Ocoee, FL. She was the greatest woman who had
ever walked the face of this earth. Now she is the greatest woman who flies
the heavens.

August 22nd, 2006- The
family went to Barry's home. Most of the family was there. I had a
horrible tooth infection, my concentration was off. At 9:30 that night I
went to a dentist in pure desperation, thanks to Barry I was able to
eliminate the problem, by eliminating the tooth. I was able to grieve with
the rest of the family.

August 23rd, 2006-
For a lot of us their was no sleep in between these days. I stayed up to
prepare for mom's funeral service. I think I did squeeze in an hour.
At 9:00am Missy, and family friend Kerin
Newsome and myself left for dad's house to meet everyone. Our friends'
Randy Cooley and Allison MacNiell stayed back to finish putting the songs
on a CD I had collected through out the night.

At 9:30 we got to the "ranch".
Immediately we saw a giant bus in the yard with about 40 people in it, all
family. We got in the bus that would be taking us to our mom's funeral
service. The bus was provided by Bonnie and Rick. When we got there to the
service mom did look peaceful. We all had our time to say goodbye. Randy
Jamieson started the service and hosted through.

He read a poem sent by
his daughter Leia. Bonnie stood up and read a poem in honor of our Rick
Jamieson and our family. Then Barry Jamieson came up and spoke words for
mom. Randy read a poem on behalf of John Jamieson. Gary Jamieson (myself),
then got up and spoke for mom. Leigh Jamieson Howell stood up and spoke
for her grandma, and Samantha Jamieson stood and spoke for her grandma.
Samantha sang "Amazing Grace" in honor of mom who loved the
song. Jordan Jamieson then stood up and spoke for his grandma.
After the service, we followed to Woodlawn
Cemetery in Ocoee where mom rests. We left, after saying our goodbyes,
Todd and Misty Jamieson stood behind to make sure everything was in order.
Dad was strong during this whole time. Obviously feeling so much pain, but
stood strong for his wife has he has done for over 50 years......what they
have is true love, a love you don't get to see often, if ever.
We got back on the bus and made our way to the
"ranch". The family all went there and spent the rest of the day
hugging and mourning for this very special lady.
